Mark Gyde's biography

Mark together with his wife, Fiona, and their four children are part of the Abingdon Community Church where they have lived for the past eighteen years. At a conference in Toronto in May 2002 God revealed Himself to Mark in a new and powerful way. A number of years earlier God had spoken to Mark about Him being a Father and Mark being a son. But during that conference this revelation came alive in a fresh way. Throughout that week two particular verses of scripture struck a chord in Mark’s heart: Jeremiah 3:19 “I thought you would call me Father” and 2 Corinthians 6:18 “I will be a Father to you”. These spoke to Mark of a whole new walk with the Father that was based on relationship and intimacy and not on duty or performance. Following that encounter Mark has enjoyed a more liberating walk with God and found greater freedom and identity in being a son. God’s love really can change every part of our lives! Since that time Mark and Fiona have come to know James and Denise Jordon from New Zealand and also become involved with Fatherheart Ministries in the UK.
