THE WORD BECAME FLESH
Ever since God had walked with Adam and his wife in the garden of Eden He had wanted a personal relationship with man. On occasions he had revealed Himself to individuals like Abraham, Moses and Isaiah but He had not been fully known to mankind. With the birth of this child, Jesus, God could once again be fully known to man.
This phrase “the Word became flesh” is so familiar that maybe it has lost its power. This was God the Father breaking into the human race in order that we may fully know Him. He stepped into our humanity in Jesus and all the fullness of the Father was revealed to us (Heb 1:1-3). It is the perfect expression of God in human form. We meet face to face with the unfailing love and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father.
Jesus later reveals that He is the way, the truth and the life. He showed us the way to the Father, he told us the truth about the Father (unlike the Pharisees) and he brought us the life of the Father. He introduced a whole new way of relating to the Father. This was not about tips or techniques, nor about rules or regulations; it was about God becoming a father to us and walking with us in relationship as He had done with Adam and Eve all those years before.
John is so impacted with this truth that he starts his first letter by describing the experience he had of seeing, hearing and touching this love. It had turned his life upside down! John had had an experience of the love of God that totally transformed his life.
The Word of God has become flesh; Jesus took on our humanity in order to introduce us to our Father. He has done away with the old order and shown us how to live in relationship and friendship with God. No longer are we slaves to the law but we have been set free to be the sons and daughters of God.
Jesus will show you the way to the Father. He will tell you the truth about the Father and he will give you the life of the Father. Don’t settle for second best; make this year a year of fellowship with the Father. (1 John 1:1-4)
365 PROMISES
Many of you will have heard of Barry Adams, the author of the Father’s Love Letter. Barry has recently compiled 365 promises from scripture which you can now receive as a daily email. Each promise has, as a backdrop, a picture depicting something of God’s creation. The promises for a particular month can be downloaded as a video and there are also a range of other formats in which the promises can be viewed or downloaded. In February there will be a DVD for sale with the videos for all twelve months plus other thematic videos.

EVENTS

These provide a relaxed environment in which you can experience the Father’s love over a week long period.
